摘要：现代钢琴因形状和体积的不同，主要分为立式钢琴和三角钢琴。钢琴因其独特的音响，88个琴键的全音域，历来受到作曲家的钟爱。在流行、摇滚、爵士以及古典等几乎所有的音乐形式中都扮演了重要角色，被誉为“乐器之王”。
钢琴的前身是拨弦古钢琴，也称作羽管键琴。它与钢琴的内部原理大致相同，都是在琴体内部装有音板和许多拉紧并列的琴弦。不同的是钢琴的弦槌击弦发音，拨弦古钢琴用羽管制的拨子拨弦发音。现代钢琴的发音原理以及构造的变化都是由古钢琴演变而来的。
