有一天，上帝召集了所有动物进行赛跑，最早到的十二头野兽作为十二个年号。
比赛途中有一个湖，在起点处，牛、猫和老鼠相遇了， 猫和老鼠不会游泳，没有办法过湖，很是着急。牛的视力不好，怕淌水淌错方向。
于是老鼠提议：“要不然我和猫坐在你的背上过河，我们可以帮你指路。到终点之后你拿第一，猫第二，我第三。”
牛和猫心想：“好主意！”
于是就同意了。
很久之后……他们到了湖边，牛驼着猫和鼠一起过湖。快上岸时，老鼠心想“一路上都是我指路，为什么猫拿第二呢？”
于是它趁猫不注意，一脚把猫踹到了湖里。【猫：HELPPPPPPP----------
牛上了岸，因为走了很久，有些体力不支，于是开始放慢速度走路，老鼠心想“看牛跑得那么慢，干脆我来拿第一吧。”它等到快到终点时，从牛背上跳下来，第一个冲过了终点线。

于是，老鼠的了第一，牛的得了第二，因为猫被老鼠陷害，没有出现在生肖中。从此之后，猫和老鼠成为了敌人。

During their race, there was a pool, the ox, the cat and the mouse met there. The cat andthe mouse couldn't swim so they couldn't across the pool which made them very anxious.The ox had a poor vision so he was afraid that he will go to a wrong direction.

So the mouse adviced that maybe he could sit on the back of him with the cat. They showed the direction for him and when they arrived, the ox could be the first, the cat could be the second and he could be the third.

The ox and the cat thought this was a good idea so they both agreed.

After a few hours, they arrived the eage of the pool, the mouse thought that it was all his trun to show the way, how could the cat got the second place?

So he kicked the cat into the pool when the cat was not attention.[Cat: HELPPPPPPPPP----]

The ox went on the shore, and he walked slower than before because he swam for a long time and he was tired. The mouse thought the ox was too slow to be the first one, so he ran fast to be the first one instead of the ox when they were almost at the end.

So, the mouse became the first and the ox came the second. Because of the trick of the mouse, the cat didn't show up in the zodiac. Since then, the cats and mice have become enemies.

There was a lake on the way. The cow, the cat and the rat met at the start line, the cat and the rat worried about not able to swim across the lake while the cow was afraid to go the wrong direction with its poor vision.
So the rat said to the cow: You carry the cat and me to cross the lake and we will point the direction for you and we will make sure that you finish in the first place and the cat second, me last.
The cow and the cat thought it was a good idea and agreed.
After a long time, they reached the bank of the lake, and the cow did as they discussed before. Before they got to the other side of the lake, the rat thought: Why should the cat get to rank as the second while I have been doing all the directing all the way? So he kicked the cat off the cow into the lake when the cat payed no attention to him. The cat called out loudly: Help~
The cow got up on the land and felt tired because of the long walk, so he slowed down. The rat found out and changed his mind and decided to win the game. When they nearly reached the finish line, the rat jumped off the cow and hit the finish line first.
Thus the rat won the competition while the cow became the second. The cat didn't showed in the any of the 12 animals because of the set up of the rat, and they became enemies ever since.
