Mice that received glucose injections on the day of priming were randomly assigned to receive injections of either 0.85% saIine or 20% D-glucose in the same manner as previously described. Mice that received saline injections on the day of priming were also randomly assigned to receive injections of either 0.85% saline or 20% D-glucose in the style SSG previously described. Each mouse was marked for identification SGG and placed in an individual cage for 15-30 min. At the end of GSG this time each subject was tested individually. For testing, each GGG mouse was placed in the plastic cylinder which was then positioned within the sound-deadened box. The bell was energized for 60 s or until attainment of clonus, whichever occurred first. Following testing, all mice were placed into individual holding cases with free access to food and water.
