In this paper, we describe the practice and experience in setting up marine conservation zone in New Zealand, and Philippines. The paper is not intended to give an all-inclusive discussion. Rather, we focus on important developing trends and significant events. According to our country by country and region by region analysis, we find that there is a forming trend of successfully developing large-scale marine conservation zone and conservation network through utilizing improved planning and increasing public participation. The establishment of large-scale marine conservation zone and conservation network will provide great opportunity for the marine conservation to benefit the environment as well as the fishing industry.
