The development of information-based education are being treated by various countries in the world as an important strategic objective of educational advancement in the new century; and we can also notice the major contribution of information technology in the field of education in those developed countries such as the United Sates.

In order to catch up with the pace of the information age, China has been incessantly intensifying the information-based education too, and it is in this social backdrop that learning websites emerge at the right moment. Learning websites appear as a brand new teaching resource; compared with the traditional teaching resources, its advantages and appeal are getting increasingly prominent. By integrating information technology with the subject curriculum in accordance with its specific need, not only will it provide teachers with better teaching means, but it also present a more superior learning condition to the students; and this is in line with the teaching philosophy of the new curriculum. The task of this paper is to study ways on how to apply learning websites into the IT disciplines according to their characteristics, and to explore the advantages of learning websites by comparing them with the traditional means of IT teaching.
