This article started with the interviewing experience of the author and extended to the underlying reason for the formation of “news out of context” in accordance with the conclusion gained. The common form of “news out of context” has been extensively analyzed based on the specific cases listed. The paper has penetrated on the various impacts on society of “news out of context” which partial exaggerated the facts, and the countermeasure has been brought forward to avoid this news coverage together with an appealing for a more responsible press media.
The news list, a direction sign and barometer concerned by the net citizens, has been recognized as a signal lamp for the focus of the net citizens. It gives full embodiment to the impact of the net news on the general public, which is actually a counting system attached to the news net and usually consists of “click list” and “the amount of follow-ups list”. In this paper, a research conducted on the NTES news list has been selected to draw a general picture of the news preference of the net citizens, thus providing a reference for the development of the network media. The paper has also covered the issue of net citizens’ media literacy from the shifting of their focuses and the guiding role of the news lists in capturing the attention of net citizens.
