有这样一个故事 从前有一个国王 很爱玩马 一天他对管理军备的大臣说 给我一匹最好的战马 让我娱乐一下 那位大臣 是个非常正直的人 他说 对不起 国王 最好的战马应该用在打仗上 而不是用来娱乐 这个故事到这里就结束了 表现的是大臣的刚直不阿
但是我想 这个故事的结局很可能是这样 国王会对大臣说 连匹马的事你都解决不了 要你何用？ 于是大臣被免职 替代大臣的 将是一个碌碌无为 只会拍国王马屁的人
大臣空有一身才学 却毫无用处 他只在乎自己的气节 却可能害了百姓们 一匹马与在位为百姓谋福利 到底哪个重要 我想结果不言而喻
由此可见一个人如果过于死板 很可能一事无成 但是反过来 没有真才实学 只会玩弄权术的人 也不行 虽然你可能会获得一时的荣耀 但是一个没有才学的人 若要与别的有才学的人竞争 不用非常手段去陷害别人是不可能的 否则不能赢 与人结仇 害人害己 结局一定不会好
所以 以我的 愚见 真正干净的成功是不存在的 就像那位大臣 为了黎民百姓 拍一下国王的马屁又能怎么样 只要自己问心无愧就行了 我们必须要找一个平衡点 既要有才学 也要有与人沟通的技巧 到达一个让我心灵舒适的标准 那样我们才能更加幸福

As my spoken English is not very good, so if anyone fails to understand what I’ll say later on in my speech, please bring out the question directly.
The topic of my speech is: Should we seek for an absolutely clean success?
There’s a story that goes like this, once upon a time, there was a king who’s very fond of horses. One day, he asked his minister who was in charge of armament, ”Give me the best war horse, I want to have some fun.” The minister happened to be an honest man, so he said, ”I’m sorry my Lord, The best horse is to be used in battles and not for amusement. ” The story just ends here. It shows that the minister was an upright and outspoken man. But I think the ending of the story may be like this: the king said to the minister, ”You can’t even settle a simple matter of a horse, what are you good at? ” So, the minister was sacked and replaced by a mediocre man who only knew how to lick the king’s boots. The knowledgeable minister lost his job and could not help the people with his intelligence and learning just because he insisted on his moral integrity. Which is important, staying in position to work in the interests of the people or one horse? I think the answer is obvious.

由此可见一个人如果过于死板 很可能一事无成 但是反过来 没有真才实学 只会玩弄权术的人 也不行 虽然你可能会获得一时的荣耀 但是一个没有才学的人 若要与别的有才学的人竞争 不用非常手段去陷害别人是不可能的 否则不能赢 与人结仇 害人害己 结局一定不会好

So an inflexible man may accomplish nothing; but on the other hand, a man without true skill and genuine knowledge who only plays politics won’t work out as well! Maybe you can gain temporary glory, but to compete against knowledgeable people, you can’t win without backstabbing others with dirty means. Breeding enmity with others, harm watch harm catch, all these will definitely end up badly.
So, in my humble opinion, an absolutely clean success is non-existent. Just like that minister, for the sake of the common folks, what’s wrong with licking the king’s boots? It’s okay so long there’s a clear conscience. We must find a balancing point, to be comfortable in body and mind involves both being intelligent and knowledgeable, and skillful in communicating with people, only then we can be much happier.

My topic today is,--should we pursue the absolute success?

There's a story about a king once upon a time, he loves horses, and one day he turns to his military consultant and says, give me the best horse and let me have some fun. That military consultant guy is a very honest people, he says, oh I'm sorry my lord, the best horse should only be used for wars, not for entertaining. The story ends here. It shows how honest and loyalty this miliary consultant is. But to me, the story might be ending with this guy finally lost his job, because the king thinks he couldn't solve one little problem like that, so he has no use of him, and the king will finally find someone to replace him, someone who can get the best horse, someone who knows nothing but entertaining the king.

The military consultant guy in this story may have a great knowlege about everything, but he didn't use any of them. He only cares about himslef being honest and loyalty to his king, but he didn't think the best for his country and people. To lose a horse, or to lose the place where he can save his people of the whole country, which one matters the most? I think we all have an answer to that.

From this story we should probably learn that if someone is too stubborn and inflexible, he probably wouldn't be able to accomplish anything. But on the other hand, if someone who doesn't have any knowledge compete with someone who does, there's no way for him to win without using some kind of dirty tricks. Making enimies with people will do no good to oneself and others. So what I'm trying to say here is that the abusolute success doesn't even exist, just like that military consultant guy, what could he possibly lose if he just go and get whatever the king wants? He can do that for the sake of his people, as long as there's nothing for him to be ashamed of.

we have to balance ourselves for being both talent and good at communicate with people, to get to the point where we can face our conscience, so that we can be truly blessed.

But in my mind, the story maight be another ending, again, when the horse keeper said he could't provide the horse for the king , the king said:" IDoes it too hard to you to find a horse for me? you cannot even fine a please horse for me, what's the value of you? finally, the horse keeper was fired, instead, another flattering man took his place.
The horse keeper are knowleagable but no place to use, he treasured his integrity but hurt the residents. A horse or the welfare of people, which one is most important? the answer is abvious.
Adnittedly, in our soiety, some people are too inflexible to be sucessful, inversely, people who have no real knowledge but know how to please others which made them vain glory. For the second one whose glory just temporary, indeed, in the competitive soiety, it's hard to win without unfair actions, but harm others, harm yourself, evil one won't have a ahppy ending in the end.
In my opinion, there have no pure success in the world, As the second jorse keeper, he did the thing in a tactful way, it's not only pleasure the king but also welfare the people, meanwhil, there are nothing bad. We should balance our righteous, doing things with knowadgable mind and circumspect throught.
