作为一个应用性很强的专业，旅游管理本科专业的实践教学和理论教学一样重要，不仅是当前旅游产业发展的需要，还是教学改革与发展的需要。现行的实践教学模式有利于培养学生的应用实操能力，与传统教学模式相比有明显的优势，但依然存在诸多不完善的方面。本文以广东商学院旅游管理本科专业为例，通过对课程设置以及实践教学模式的分析，结合国外旅游院校的成功经验，提出适合我国高等教育实际情况的措施和建议来保证旅游管理本科专业实践教学模式的有效进行。
