求解sat语法题

Cuban music was so popular in the Colombian city of Cali (thus becoming) the basis for the dance scene that predominated three during 1940s.

括号内出错了，很多人认为该改成 thus became，但我认为thus应该不能做连词所以后面也就不能再跟一个动词了，而这里应该是thus becoming 现在分词做状语，应改成 (, thus becoming)

高手们怎么看？
thus 应该不是连词，我查过一些字典的。。所以3L是不是不太对啊，。。
2L的意思是说句子属于so that 句式但是省掉了that？这种情况sat语法允许吗？

B thus 后面的becoming应该改成became。

理由：主要结构是...so...that...引导的结构，所以其前后的谓语动词要保持一致。我们看到was和predominated都是过去式，其它的动词还有thus后面的becoming，在这里要改成became与前后的谓语相一致。

另外，请你核对一下，during前面的three是不是there之误？谢谢。

就是 thus became thus是连词所以后面才得用谓语动词，与前面的Was是并列的，都做句子谓语动词。只不过thus后面省略了主语Cuban music，因为前面已经提到了
我觉得so popular 后面得有that吧？ so that句式
