It is not rare to see that some people, who seem to be ambitious and well-prepared, are talking about their dreams which are very challenging. More often than not, years passed, these people are still doing nothing but talking. On the contrary, the really successful people are those who constantly pursue the realistic dreams, one step after another, without big words. Thus, dreams, as far as I concerned, should be realistic.
The first and foremost reason lies in the inevitable fact that a big challenging dream can always be decomposed into several realistic steps. If we stick to our realistic dreams all the time, ultimately we may have chances to achieve the big ones. Taking me for a fitting example, recently my realistic dream is to study aboard in order to get a Master degree. Therefore, I exert myself in both academic and language studying, and do my best to impress those foreign professors. Of course, I can have a challenging dream, like to be the first Chinese women who win the Nobel Prize. But what shall I do first? It comes back to my realistic dream, studying aboard.
Apart from the one I have mentioned above, another equally important aspect is that sometimes people just do not have some essential geniuses to achieve their challenging dreams. It is a waste of time and energy to chase the castle in the air. Hence, those dreams that we set as goals should be suitable for us and able to realize. For one thing, with a realistic dream we can be more confident and have motivation to put effort to it. For another, it makes us down-to-earth and not to misspend our youth on the unrealistic things.
But all the foregoing does not necessarily mean that people should not have challenging dreams. For some people, challenging dreams can make them put more effort into their work and help them to achieve a roaring success. A particular striking example is that Chen Sheng, a peasant who was mocked when he said he would become a bigwig, turned out to be the leader of the uprising, which overthrew the strong Qin Dynasty.
In a word, it will be good if you have a challenging dream, but it is not an indispensable part of you life. What is really essential for your success? In my opinion, it is a realistic dream, which you will spare no effort to achieve it in the planned time.
It is not rare to see many people just waiting to die, or even committing suicide because of down and out. Moreover, this phenomenon can be observed at an increasing rate during recent years, especially when the world is in the grip of nowadays economic depression. Obviously, the government should provide the basic financial or other aids to those people who have important problems.
The first and foremost reason lies in the inevitable facts that sometimes people may face the extremely important problems which beyond the scope of their own ability, and what is worse, they have no one to turn to. In these cases, without government's help, there is nothing different to sentence them to death. A fitting example of which is the news published recently. An old woman was swept out from her house by her son and daughter-in-law. Without any incomes and other families to turn to, the old woman died because of a lack of medical treatment. However, everything can be different, if the government has provided some aids to the poor lady. At least, she can have a better old age in the nursing house.
Apart from the one I have mentioned above, it might also be noted that in the sociology, the public welfare is an essential part in evaluating the government and the country. In a developed and highly civilized country, it is government’s duty to provide aids to people in need. For one thing, all the money the government has is coming from the masses. Therefore, government ought to use the masses' money to secure their lives. For another, helping the people who have difficulties is what everyone should do. Government, as a role model of the morality, has no reason to just stand by and watch its people been pushed to death.
Nevertheless, it must be realized that providing helps or not must be determined on a case-by-case basis since there are some people want to take advantage in government's helps. A particularly striking example is that some people were eager to adopt those orphans who had just survived the earthquake in order to get the pensions provided by the government.
In conclusion, the government should provide aids to the people trapped in the important problem. Since not everyone can overcome every difficulty they met in their life, it is government’s duty to help its people who are really in need and improve their living standard.
Imagine a world in which everything people done should relate to their work and even taking about the other things is forbidden. Obviously, hardly can any one tell exactly what it is like when such imagination comes into reality, but it is absolutely will let people feel nothing but boring and monotonous. Thus, as far as I concerned, people should have hobbies and do physical activities that are different from one's work.
The first and foremost reason lies in the inevitable fact that many people are tortured by their occupational diseases. More often than not, the news of death from overwork can be observed at an increasing rate during recent years. Naturally, doing physical exercise from time to time seems to be an excellent and, no exaggeration here, the best solution to settle these issues. For one thing, in the course of doing exercises, people’s fatigue accumulated during the work can be released with the sweat. For another, doing physical activities can keep many diseases away from us, such as the cervical syndrome, varicose veins, cardiovascular disease, and so on.
Apart from the one I have mentioned above, another equally important aspect is that by participating in the physical activities, we could meet many nice people coming from different fields. Moreover, these new friends who are out of our realms will broaden our horizon and change our perspectives of viewing the questions. A fitting example of which is my mother, a computer engineer, is keen on badminton recently. She plays the doubles with a woman who majored on dietetics. Consequently, my mother, who used to pay little attention to the diet, now becomes a nutritionist in our family.
Despite these obvious benefits, also, there are certain risks which should by no means be neglected such as excessive physical activities occupying working hours. Actually, the situation is not rare that someone is obsessed by those hobbies extremely consuming physical strength. Due to the tiredness causing by the excessive physical activities, it is hard for them to concentrate on the own job.
In conclusion, having hobbies and doing physical activities that are different from one's work should be definitely advocated in our daily life, especially for the reasons of our own health and social intercourse. Nonetheless, it is even more desirable, and probably more essential overall if we can balance our time between physical activities and our work.
