General introduction:
Founded in 1477, Uppsala University (UU) is the oldest university in Scandinavia. It is an international research university with many traditions in a dynamic and innovative environment. A 2005 study by Shanghai Jiaotong University ranks it 60th in the world.
Its ancient traditions, advanced knowledge, and experienced staff provide a foundation for today’s operations. A portion of its excellent reputation can be traced to the work of earlier generations.
