7. Limit Switches
The planetary saw does not have limit switches both in the front and the rear of the work bench. Norwell will supply limit switches for the saw based on our engineer’s reference of where the switches should be placed.
We will supply both the switches and the schematic of the installation.
8. Logic for Clamp Release During Emergency Stop
The current logic of the planetary saw is that when the Emergency Stop button is pressed, the saw and all related components immediately shut down. The problem with this is that the clamps remain in the closed position holding the pipe. If the pipe needs to be removed, the clamps needed to be manually opened. This is difficult and time-consuming
Shunde’s electrical engineer will supply logic and changes to the system so that when the Emergency Stop button is pressed, the clamps will release the pipe…meaning the upper pneumatic clamping system will retract the upper clamp prior to shutting down.
This logic change and any necessary component changes will be supplied as soon as possible.
9. Alternative Pipe Holding Proposal
Norwell has proposed an alternative pipe holding design that will provide internal support to the pipe during the saw cutting and chamfering operation. A proto-type design was presented to Uniteca and they agreed with the concept.
We will attempt to adapt the design as a “replacement/enhancement” to the current operating mechanism. If this is not possible, the enhanced design will be included in any replacement or new planetary saws. This is an enhancement to the current design and not an absolute requirement for the specified functioning of the current saw. 展开
