An amazing experience (of myself)
In the 20 years of my life, many things happened. And I am very proud to say that most other people could never even dream of experiencing some of them. One of the most amazing one, which I prefer knowing it as the “turning point” of my teenage life, and triggered the next few “breaking” events—happened just two years ago.
At the beginning of the year 2005, my mom applied for the 6th Annual “Star of Outlook” English Talent Competition for me. At first, both Mom and I thought this kind of competition would be too hard for me do handle, because we have seen the past few shows airing on CCTV-10. But anyway, we simply held the idea of “just playing”, and of course it would be a great chance to train my skills. Since Liaoning became a competing territory in that year, we thought that it would be more convenient.
Surprisingly, I did extremely well in that competition and actually made it all the way to the national final. I got 3rd place and 2nd prize at last. Later it was proven to be the best rank that Liaoning Province had achieved ever since.
In the competition, I met lots of excellent contestants with super talents, and I expanded my knowledge. These are the things I’d benefit from forever.
My primary school also awarded me of very high honor. In the next two years many companies of news and TVs came to interview. These were only small bits. After that, an English-studying-machine company asked me to take part in their new commercial. Therefore, I stayed in Beijing for a week in front of cameras and busy schedules. I also got the reward of 10,000. I came up with the idea of founding a foundation. Soon it came true, and the first 5,000 was donated.
Except for those, there’s still a lot this competition had changed about me. I won’t state them all. After all, This is an amazing experience for me.
