层次分析法作为国际关系学界广泛认同的方法论之一，最早由肯尼斯沃尔兹在他的著作《人，国家与战争》一书中提出。在书中，华尔兹从人性、国家内部结构、国际体系的特性三个层次对战争根源进行了综合分析，每一个层次都代表了一种特定的解释。层次分析法的出现是现代国际关系开始从幼稚走向成熟的标志，对国际关系理论的发展产生了巨大影响。
本文借助层次分析法分析伊朗核危机及其对于国际社会的影响。首先阐述伊朗核危机的主要历史背景和演变过程；进而介绍层次分析法的概念及其应用方法。通过层次分析法中的个人层次，国家层次和系统层次，分别对美国和伊朗的领导人，国内结构以及两国所处的国际体系的特征进行分析研究，结合美伊两国关系的转变，找出伊朗核危机产生和激化的深层次原因。
