The advantages of taking public transportation such as buses and railroad transits are as follow: a) they help reduce expensive gasoline expenses that the owner may consume each month; b) one need not to buy a car, which may be relatively expensive to some people; and c) public transits, in fact, help reduce the Global Warming issue that has been debating over the last decade because these transits use more environmental friendly gasoline. However, there are considerable disadvantages with public transits though. First, they are more time consuming. If one is in a rush, like getting late to work, public transits like buses may not be a good choice because they are slow. Secondly, if more and more people start taking buses to work or school, the demand for public transit is going to go up for sure. Thus, the bus fare rate is going to go up. In a long run, the cost of taking buses will far exceed the cost of purchasing a car. In either of these two cases, getting a car is going to help.
