I spent quite a lot for my transportation, shopping and dining out for the past two weeks. I must get on a written budget plan as soon as I can. I think it is useful as “A budget is telling my money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” Dad used to tell me that saving stabilizes my money. I started to save some money I plan to use for my future education, and I’m saving for a car instead of spending too much money on the transportation every month. I don't put my money into a mutual fund unless it’s time for me to leave it alone for at least five years. As I know my savings is not an investment, I just start where I am. It was a surprise as I learnt that the value of money is getting smaller and I’m always out of my budget by the end of the month.

I guess I’ll have to make a change especially on my spending habits. I must stay away from places that tempt me to spend due to my overspending, especially for my meals. Dining out can be very expensive in this city. I am going to write down what I have today—income and expenses—and spend my income on paper before the month begins. Also, I’ll try using a spending system to help me spend cash. I’ll use only the allotted money to buy specific things. When the allotted cash is spent, I’m not going to buy anything else in that budget category. I’ll need to buckle down and get serious. I know it’s a sign of maturity when I delay pleasure today so that I can ensure a better tomorrow. Financial Peace is what I want to have.
