TheBritishspendalotoftimetalkingabouttheweather.Soitisnotsurprisingtofindthatmanypeop... The British spend a lot of time talking about the weather. So it is not surprising to find that many people like weather forecasting. The weather office, which tells people what the weather will be like the next day, is always receiving telephone calls from forecasting lovers giving it their advice. Some of those people base their forecasts on the movement of the star, and others on past weather records or on what they have observed in the country. Of course, the weather office’s computers ought to be more accurate than one person working alone. The computers, however, also make plenty of mistakes. An example of this is the monthly weather forecast the office has been publishing since 1963 without much success. The office began these forecasts as an experiment and it would not have published them if the government had not insisted on it. The trouble is that although the office says that its forecasts are not always accurate the public can’t help taking notice of them.
