After 29 years of development, Shenzhen has evolved from a small border town into an internationally recognized modern city, created the well known "Shenzhen Speed" .

Shenzhen will be holding 26th Universiade in 2011 recently. This is another Grant Event after Beijing Olympics 2008, Shanghai Expo 2010 and Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 that took place in China.

The city has a total area of 2020 square kilometers, with the land of 1952.84 square kilometers.
The original Special Economic Zone has been expanded to the whole city since July 1st 2010.
