As I hoped he would allow me to walk to the next corner with him,where I could take a taxi,I stepped ou of the dark doorway where I had been standing,and said,“Excuse me,where are you going with that umbrella?”Frightened by a sudden appearance,the young man dropped the umbrella,which,I am afraid,he had just stolen,ran away,and disappeared into the darkness.I picked up the umbrella  and continued my walk.I knew it would be hopeless in this big city to try and discover the owner and so I have kept it ever since.【注:要求中文是中国话，能说得通】
