My best wishes to Tom, Todd, Lillian. Missing you all!
I have been in Canada for about two months. I am fine! Everything is good.
When I arrived in Canada, I felt very sad, because it was the first time for me to go away from home such a distance!
I miss my parents, miss my friends, and miss China all the time. After about two weeks, I was sort of getting used to living here.
Canada is a beautiful and peaceful country, that's the first view Canada gave to me. When I got off from Air Canada (the Canadian air plane company), I looked up to the blue sky, and took a deep breath. At that time, I realize I would face a lot of challenges here. Everything is different from China, I am alone but not lonely! I tell myself, no matter how strange here is, I must face all kinds of problems by myself and I believe I can handle them.
This is the time to grow up!
First two weeks are the most difficult period. I know nothing about Canada, like people's habit, food and so on. In general, everything is new for me, I need to learn from the beginning, and it takes time. After about two weeks, I gradually begin to adapt, now I know where I can eat, and when I need something I know where I can get it. During the first two weeks I just take a map with me and find out each position on campus, also some places around.
The majority of food is too sweet here, but some of it is really tasty, like cookies and chocolate cake... I remembered that Tom said before, he told us to be really careful with those food!!! It will make you become fat for sure! Listen to Tom and Todd. I know now they were telling the truth to me
In Canada people seem to be addicted to coffee, when you walk along the street, you will see most of them were holding a cup of coffee. That's another kind of scenery. People in Canada are friendly, that's the truth. They are all willing to help. Once I got lost, a woman took me to where I want to go and she taught me how to get subway tickets too. I was very grateful. So, when you have problems don't worried, as long as you can communicate with others, just ask them.
You know homesick always happens, it takes time for students to get rid of it. The best way to avoid that is working hard, study will relieve those feelings a little bit. Studying aboard is a big challenge, anyone who choose this way should get prepared. It is not a easy task. You will never know what will happen next second. No matter what happens, you are the only person who must facing it, and deal with it by yourself.
To tell the truth, I was grateful that I choose Sino-Canadian program, it is because this program gave me the chance to study overseas.
Although it is a tough mission, but for me I know if you really have your own dream and you want make it come true someday,
just have a little faith, you all gonna make it!

Dear Peter,
I remember you told me you were interested in teaching in China. Our school now is looking for a native-speaker to teach some courses to senior high students. If you come, you can choose three of the following four courses: Speaking, Writing, Britain Today and American Today, and teach of English learning experiences. Besides teaching, you will also work as an advisor to our students’ English club or our school’s English newspaper.
