To become a good fantasy artist, you must practice. It is impossible to express ideas unless you have the necessary technique. Develop your technique of form and structure, Light and shade by drawing from observation in your sketchbook.
Always keep a sketchbook handy. There is no other way except the hard work. You will develop the link between eye and hand through practice. Once the link has been made, you will have begun toaccess your own creativity.
You should also sharpen your inventiveness by drawing and doodling the kinds of fantasy subjects in your mind, but you need to keep your art rooted in the real world. Anything you worth a sketch.
Do not try to draw full illustrations every time. It is more effective just to doodle something easy to loosen up your hand and improve your technique. Work more on the areas where your technique is weak.
