be able to 和can的区别

1.can表示一般能力，也可以表示推测，过去时could表示实际上并不存在的能力，如：
① I can speak German.
② If I were millionair ,I could give you 10000 yuan.
2.be able to 表示具体能力，并通过这一能力做成某事，语气强，尤其是用在过去式的句子里表示在困难情况下，经过一番努力最终“能”，如：
① The river was really wide,but I was able to swim across it.
② (97高考）The fire spread through the hotel quickly but everyone _D_ get out.

be able to 表示你有能力做某事，着重强调某人“有这个能力”
can除了有be able to的意思还表示某人可以通过做某事达到一定的目的
e.g:
you are able to get the first place
也可以说you can get the first place
another:
you can just smile to cheer him up
在这里你不能说you are able to just smile to cheer him up
因为这不是能力的问题！

can 可以表示猜测
或者是能够,可以,指被允许的...
也可以说是表示会某重技能.
