We need to make our homes, offices, and factories more energy efficient. We need to learn to capture and store the carbon emissions from coal. And we must develop new sources of clean, renewable energy that will power the world economy for decades to come.
Both China and India have begun to invest in these technologies, just as we are doing in the United States. But the urgency of the challenges demands more from all of us.
