The Tale of Genji is a novel written by Japanese court lady Murasaki Shikibu in Heian period. Japanese prose reached its peak during this period, and The tale of Genji is the most accomplished one. ---this could be the first sentence to start with.
You can talk about the following points:
Genji is the prince of the emperor, his mother died when he was young so the emperor decided to give him the name Genji, which means the source as a representation of his love toward Genji.
Fujitsubo is one the emperor's wives, she looked resemble to his mother that's part of the reason why Genji fall in love with her.
Aoi is Genji's wife, she died under Lady Rokujo's curse after she gave birth to Genji's son.
Murasaki is a girl raised by Genji who looked exactly the same as Fujitsubo. Genji "kidnapped" her to let her grown up as the perfect wife in his mind.

You may focused on the conversation in Chapter Two, between Genji and To no Chujo about the perfect woman or wife. In my opinion the whole book is developed under this tune.
