Tom lost his mother at an early age and was adopted by his aunt. The clever and naughty Tom could not stand the control of his aunt and school teacher and often skipped school and got into trouble. Late one night, he went to the graveyard with his good friend Huck Belifen and accidentally witnessed a murder. Fearing that the killer would find out that they knew about it, Tom and Huckleberry fled to a desert island with another companion to become a "pirate", so that the family thought they had drowned, but they appeared at their own "funeral". After a fierce ideological struggle, Tom finally bravely stood up to testify against the killer. Not long after, during a picnic, he and his beloved girl Becky lost their way in a cave, facing the threat of death for three days and three nights of hunger and cold. Finally, he managed to get out of danger and, together with his best friend Huck, found the treasure buried by the killer.
