年龄因素是影响第二语言习得质最的一个重要的变量因素，年龄与第二语言学习的关系也是英语教学理论上最有争议的问题之一。根据有关年龄对二语习得的影响的研究，结合国内外学者的研究，以及实际教学情况，我们认为学习外语并非越早越好，在中国的多数地区，从9-12岁左右之后，即初中阶段，开始学习第二语言应该是最好的做法。

The age factor is an important influential element of learning a second language, and the relationship between age and the learning of second language is also one of the most controversial problems in the English teaching theory .Due to the research about the influence of age to the learning of second language, the research of both the international and domestic scholars, and the actual teaching condition, we think it's not good for people to learn foreign languages as early as possible. In many parts of China, we think children at middle school, who age from 9 to 12, are most suitable to learn a second language.
