How can we learn things more effectively? Well, in my opinion, there are at least three ways to achieve this: be confident, be concentrated, and adopt special tactics. First of all, confidence is a critical one because without that one cannot conquer anything, including learning of course. Secondly, focusing on what you're doing is the most basic requirement. Finally, special tactics can significantly raise the effectiveness of learning, and there're various kinds of them including taking notes, repeating vocally, etc.

As to helping others, the most important thing one has to always keep in mind is: don't think about being paid back. Through helping others, the acquisition of genuine happiness is already a precious and irreplaceable reward, so there's no need to be eager for pay-backs from those being helped, not to mention that originally one is NOT supposed to think about those things when he/she decides to help others.
