不可以这么翻译。if从句里的were用了虚拟语气，但这里捐钱救人现在不是族拍与事实相违背的事情，所以不能用虚拟语气。
如果是过去假设拿明发生的事，就改为If anyone was ill, they all chipped in to pay the doctor's bill.
如果是现在假设发生的事，消穗告就改为If anyone is ill, they all chipp in to pay the doctor's bill.
