　　I am Wang Mei, a student in XX University. I went to your lecture last Thursday and I am writing to sincerely thank you for the time you spent with us. Your lecture on American culture is very wonderful and thought-provoking.
　　In the lecture, you have mentioned 5 symbols of American culture. I remember one is American Gothic of which I have no idea. I don't know why this painting can represent American culture. Since you are an expert in this field and I wonder whether you could recommend me some relevant books or websites；Your kind help would be greatly appreciated.
