英文原稿：Chinese have slammed Japan for its continued detention of a Chinese fishing boat captain. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said it blatantly infringes on China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Jiang stressed that Diaoyu Islands have been China's territory since ancient times, adding that Japan must stop fooling the public and the media. Jiang said Japan's move has aroused strong indignation among the Chinese people and severely undermined bilateral ties with China. She urged Japan to unconditionally release the captain to avoid further damaging the relation between two countries.
