题目 Should animals be the friends of people or should they be regarded as the sources of people’s food and clothes? State your positions and your own experience.

When an increasing number of kinds of animals have been appearing in this planet, people just begin to consider about should we treat animals as our friends or just regard them as the sources of food and clothes. Aiming at this debate, I strongly hold the viewpoint that animals absolutely should be treated as best friends of human beings.

In the first place, all the species in this world are equal, human are just more advanced than other species but that doesn't mean we have right to kill animals by no limitations. Although animals don't have ability to talk, however, except his feature, there is no distinction between human and animals. We human beings have well-developed civilization, we have brilliant intelligence which means that human has responsibility to treat animals as good as treating people.

Secondly, it is diverse species that combine this amazing planet. Animals play a considerable role in maintaining ecological balance. If we only regard animals as consumer goods, at last, we will definitely bear the suffering.

The last but not the least, many animals can help people in numerous aspects. I.e. dogs, cats, birds, etc. can become the best companions for the elderly and children who are easier to feel lonely. There is no doubt that pets bring happiness to individuals. And well-trained animals as guide dogs, cannot only please blind people, but also apply help in their daily life. Not to mention dolphins, they have saved countless lives in the sea.

Hence, animals should be deemed as a necessary part of this planet, people have the responsibility to treat them well. (266)
