没题做，看二、三楼与四楼的答案，见二三题有不同意见，感兴趣了（其它跳过）：

析：B的形式就是错的。fast表示“线速度”之快，且possibly多余，排除BC
火大的彗星 ：AD不一样。much与soon大不一样，这里不说：I'll come around and fix it much吧？ 只会说：I'll come around and fix it soon. 用as soon as possilbe (/ as he could) 表示“尽可能”地早一点过来（soon是“很快”,“不久”）。

先做题得分：B.
析：D是凑数项，从词性、词义上都不成干扰项，首先能排除。
athough 和even though 都是引导让步从句的连词，且意思相近，只是语气程不同，且出题者认为后面的不是从句而是动名词短语，所以排除AC
只剩下介词短语in spite of了，后跟动名词getting ...，选B一定得分！

1. 出题者见过when crosing the street, you can never be too careful.这样的句子吗？
这属于分词短语作状语，为明确是什么性质的状语，前面可加上连词（when), 但不是所有的从属连词（引导状语从句的连词）都能这么用的（还有一种提法是状语从句的省略主+be动词），难道出题者认为though等等不可以这么用吗？
查语法书，有：Though reduced in numbers ,they gained in fighting capacity.
说明though可以跟分词短语作状语的。所以我一开始的答案就是AC中！
2. 句意不好。get the highest result in the class应该是一次考试中获得了最高的成绩。且不说这个result(结果）用highest (最高的）来修饰是否地道，就是现在分词表示“正在进行，或同时发生的情况”与后句：他依然和老师有矛盾（这个have problems with sb.感觉也不是很好）。这个关系也不是很好。get这个动作应该结束了。原从句时态应为完成时态：Though he had got the best result in the exam, he still had problems with the teacher. 要改为连词+分词，就应为：Though having got the ...., .....( even though 即使。。。，只是语气不同，可能比A更好些，因为主句中有个still),
3. 再来看这个in spite of 是不是最佳选项。in spite of 是个介词，我的感觉，后跟名词，表示“尽管存在。。。”，如in spite of the rain, the sports meeting went on.
in spite of doing sth. 为出题者想当然造的。不合逻辑。可以通过查词典来证明：
They went out in spite of the rain. 尽管下著雨, 他们还是出去了.
In spite of all his efforts he failed. 他已竭尽全力, 但仍然失败了.
In ~ of all our efforts, the enterprise ended in failure.
尽管我们竭尽全力,事业依然归于失败

所以说，这一题是有问题的题句！大家不要用了。

经网络搜索，发现此题原为托福练习题，有改动：
