[abstract]: the difference of concepts concerning child-adoption manifested by both Chinese and American families has a far-reaching historical and cultural background. This article starts from researching the cultural differences between China and the U.S.. It makes comparison between the Chinese and the U.S. families with regard to the aim and object of adopting child as well as the nurturing style after the adoption respectively. It also makes in-depth analysis about the deeper cause of the conceptual differences relating to child-adoption between the Chinese and the American families, and relevant issues which China is in urgent need to tackle as well.
