A warm greeting to all of you, my freinds. I would be more than happy to introduce to and share with you my favorite song, “starry starry night”. It is a song written by famous musician Don McLean to memorize the most talented artist Vincent Van Gogh, who created the world’s prestigious paintings, such as The Sunflower Series, Starry Night, The Potato Eaters and so on.
In this song, what impressed me so deeply are the lyrics, which implicitly express the experiences, the works and his sufferings as well as his great spirits. For instance, line 2 of the song reads “Starry, starry night. Flaming flowers that brightly blaze, Swirling clouds in violet haze, Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.”, which keeps me thinking of Vincent Van Gogh’s brilliant paintings and drawings and his tragic experiences throughout his life as well as his death. Therefore, I feel reading its lyrics from a literature perspective is full of joy.
Still, the melody and rhythm of the song are also impressive. Whenever the song plays, a strong feeling would come out from the bottom of my heart. And it so deeply moves me and gives me a sense of sadness.
