您好,以下是本人按题目要求写的英语作文,希望对您有帮助:
Dear Ken,
Thanks for your letter. Hope this finds you well.
I hope everything will be fine for you and your brother, Chris. Regarding the problem of your brother, I feel sorry for what you have been through. I would like to give you some advice based on my personal experiences.
First of all, you'd better talk to Chris. You should help him get rid of his computer addiction by telling him the consequences. The addiction can not only destroy his health, but also ruin his bright future. If he continues to be like that, he will lost faith and become helpless, which is extremely dangerous to him. To help your brother, you can take him to some place nice and quiet, such as a park, a garden, or the riverside. By going outside, you and your brother will have time to enjoy some fresh air, and he may realize the beauty of the nature. You should also tell Chris to exercise more, such as play basketball or tennis with you, which will help him lose weight as well as keep healthy. In addition, please tell Chris to have healthy food and get enough sleep, or he will get sicker and fail the exam. What's more, don't forget to invite Chris for some activities such as watching a sports game or going on a picnic.
Communication is the best way to solve the problem of Chris. I truly wish he could get well soon. Anything you need, please feel free to let me know. Look forward to your response.
Sincerely yours,
Mike

Dear Ken,
I received your email this morning, from what I can see from your email, Chris is having the signs and symptoms of Internet/Computer addiction.
Computer Addiction – obsessive playing of computer games. Maybe Chris is suffering from anxiety. He may want to use the computer to distract himself from his worries and fears. And I guess he is depressed. The computer can be an escape from feelings of depression, but too much time spent can make things worse. Because Computer Addiction further contributes to stress, isolation and loneliness.
There are a few steps you can take to get his computer use under control and it’s important that you get some support from your parents as well.
Encourage other interests and activities. Get him out from behind the computer screen. Expose him to other hobbies and activities, such as sports, afterschool clubs and outing. Monitor computer use and set clear limits. Restrict the use of computers, place it at a common area of the house where you and your parents can keep an eye on Chris’ activity, and limit his time play. Be a good role model. Manage the Internet and computer use in your own life well. This will be most effective if you as brother follow suit. If you can’t stay offline, chances are Chris won’t either.
Talk to Chris about underlying issues. Tell him that compulsive computer use can be the sign of deeper problems. Ask him about what is the cause of his stress? Don’t be afraid to seek professional counseling if you are concerned about him. Or maybe he has trouble relating to others, or he’s excessively shy with people in real life. The more relationships he has in real life, the less he will need the computer. If he is shy, try finding common interest groups such as a sports team, education class, or school club for him to join. This allows him to interact with others and let relationships develop naturally. Set goals for him when he can use the computer. For example, setting a timer, scheduling use for certain times of day, or making a commitment to turn off the computer at the same time each night. Or you could reward Chris with a certain amount of computer time once he has completed his homework assignment or finished the laundry, for instance.
If he is bored and lonely, have a plan for other ways to fill his time, such as going to lunch with him , taking tuition class, or inviting his friend over.
I hope the above will help, and don’t forget to tell Chris that I miss him a lot, as I’m going to pay him a visit somewhere next week. Do take good care till we meet again.
Warmest Regards,
Mike

Dear Ken,I’m awfully (非常) sorry to hear that your brother Chris is addicting in computer.Network addiction not only destroys your brother health and affects his health.you should tell him the harm, at the same time it also hurts the parents’ feelings. In the long run, he will lose confidence and goal for the future. I am glad that you have realized the danger of such addiction. As brother you can give several advice to your brother. Firstly, whenever he want to surf the net, go to do some sports with him, such as running and playing basketball. If it is night, he can’t help touching the computer, listen to music. Maybe dance at the same time. Secondly, I think your brother need to make friends. Get in touch with old friends and his classmates, join their activities frequently. As long as he feel life is full of fun and wonder, he will be no longer lonely and boring. The temptation(诱惑) of net will be reduced. In a word, I do hope your brother can give up the network addiction and resume(恢复) to his normal life and study as soon as possible. Yours sincerely, Mike 希望可以帮到你!
