many,much,lots of和a lot of都表示"许多",没有a lots of这一说法.
其中many修饰【可数名词】,如many books.
much修饰【不可数名词】,如much water.
lots of和a lot of两个都是可以修饰可数也可以修饰不可数名词,只不过写法不同而已.

举例：there is so much water
there are many people
