ItwaslastsummerAugust.Myfatherandi,a10-year-oldboy,wererowingonthelaketotheothersides...
It was last summer August. My father and i , a 10-year-old boy, were rowing on the lake to the other sides. It was a small park named Bear Mountain. The cloud overhead provided some relief from the heat. The trip was really comfortable and peaceful. Then i stopped rowing.,sat back and closed my eyes while i heard Dad rowing quietly.
Suddenly i heard a buzzing, close to my right ear. I sat there still and looked at my father, with great hopes of his help. Don't move and he'll not hurt you, said my father and kept rowing. I thought to myself, what is he talking about? Then i looked around me and saw it.a large terrible bee! For me,it was more than fear, although i couldn't explain why, neither my mother nor my doctors.at that time, i must have looked like a statue. However, my father just rowed. He's tired. Once he's rested enough, he'll keep on going.
Was i hearing correctly? Was my father telling me to just let the terrible bee sit on my shoulder? I turned my head slowly toward the right and saw there he sat. As i watched him, i became more and more interested in his bright yellow and black jacket. The fear was little by little disappearing and i left more relaxed. But before i could do anything,he began testing his wings and then flew away. I was able to track him and saw him cross the water and head into the forest. I sat back and looked at Dad. I told you. Was all he said. We rowed away without any words on the ways.
More than 30 years have passed since that afternoon, but the memory at that moment has taken root in my heart. In the following years i thought hard about that tired bee. I realized that for the first time in my life i connected to something larger than myself. I came to believe he was sent to give me a lesson that we are all one. No man is an island.
