I eat both apples and pears.这两个都对吗？

Question one：从语法角度讲the book's main character是用的's结构，即是所有格的结构，但是此结构常用于 人sb 中，如my mother's sister。因此这个句子更常用的说法是the main character of the book，更加形象。
Question two：I both eat apples and pears. wrong
I eat both apples and pears. right
both...and...中间接的是两个相同地位的词语，比如Both he and I like apples.（就近原则）。因此这个句子就应该将apples和 pears放在both...and...的中间。

个人看法啊：第一个应该是对的。第二个问题我觉得第一种是不对的吧，这种只能是表示主语是两个人We both eat。。。
