英语改错，求解释！

Cheetahs(猎豹) are the fast land creatures in the world. Why would a cheetah need to be able to running so fastly? The only animal that comes close to the cheetah’s amazed speed is its best favoritefood, the gazelle(瞪羚). In order to catch up a meal that’s as swift as the wind, the cheetah had to develop the ability. It must run as fast as, or faster as , the gazelle. Otherwise, it will face starvation. Cheetahs are a excellent example of the effects of natural selection. There is several species of large cats in the world, but none of them can match the speed of the cheetah.
catch up 为什么后面要加with，去掉up不行吗？
as 为什么要改成than？

• catch up后面有宾语a meal，而catch up后面不能接宾语，只能加上with构成固定搭配catch up with才能接宾语。catch虽然也有“抓住”的意思，但是它的主语一般是人。

• 因为有比较级faster，所以as要改为than。
