1D。第一句直接可以得到答案。
2B。原文:“The spanish introduced it to the rest of the world during the 1500's。。。In London, shops where chocolate drinks were served bacame important meeting places.”其中“during the 1500's”对应“Centuries ago”,“often gathered in shops ”对应“important meeting places”。非常对应。原文中说是South American Indians最初做的chocolate drinks而不是A说的spanish,所以A错。C和D两项,原文中都没有提到,所以无法成为答案。
3A。原文:“The potato is also from the New World. Around 1600,the Spanish brought it from Peru to Europe。。。”先说potato是new world来的,然后说spanish从peru带回了potato,所以说明peru是new world。
4C。完全是单词的本来意思,直接得出答案。如果不认识的话,文中也说“people died from hunger ”,也就是食物短缺的意思。
