C# 怎么判定textbox里的值是否存在与数据库

如果textbox里的值存在就更新 ，如果不存在就添加 ，执行以后说我判断值不能为Null ，这哪里错了啊？

用变量取得 TEXT属性值，然后用SQL代码加变量形式验证数据库是否存在。最好用DATAREADER，速度相对快一些。
select * from table where 学号列='"+textbox.text+"'
这个就可以啊，然后定义 DATAREADER，执行上述语句，再判断一下它中的数据项是否为空，为空就是没有，否则就是有。
