Journey to the west is a classic of Chinese God and devil novels, reaching the peak of ancient romantic novels. 

Together with the romance of the Three Kingdoms, the outlaws of the marsh and a dream of Red Mansions, it is known as the four famous Chinese classics.

Since its inception, journey to the West has been widely circulated among the people, and various versions have emerged one after another. 

There are six kinds of periodicals in the Ming Dynasty, seven kinds of periodicals and manuscripts in the Qing Dynasty, and 13 kinds of lost versions recorded in ancient books.
