Some people think computer and internet are important in children’s study, but others think students can learn more effectively in schools and with teachers. Discuss both view and give your own opinion.

The advent of internet and computer play a significant role in children’s study and open up the possibility of distant learning and interacting with each other. Although this practice is embraced by many, others remain unconvinced of its merits. They insist that children can learn more effectively in school with the guidance of teachers.(54)

Those in favor of the’ internet and computer learning’ argue that these should be regarded as a good solution of acquiring knowledge. The internet and computer bring many vivid pictures and educational programs on screen which make the students learn in a vibrant and active way. Moreover, many children benefit from distant learning which not only render them to continue their study whenever and wherever they want but also ensure they can search and allocate the information they need timely.(80)

On the other hand, the opponents of this view also have their reasons. To begin with, children are all in their formative stage, they always need the supervision and guidance from their parents or teachers, which promise they learn in a healthy and effective way to avoid being addicted into playing games and accessing to sexually explicit pictures when they acquire knowledge through computer by themselves. Moreover, schools provide a sound atmosphere for children, they can learn competition and cooperation from the peer and teacher, let them perfectly aware of their strength and weakness. Most importantly, comparing with the learning by computer, children better accept the delicately arranged lessons by their teachers due to schools can better aware of what knowledge should be disseminated to students. This means they can have a explicit project for their leaning career.(138)

Take all together, I tend to encourage kids to acquire knowledge mainly at school, at the same time, the internet and computer can be implemented as a good helper for teachers and students. This combination will have a perfect and ideal result.(42) 314
