This means our society is becoming more open and diverse. I think we should not deny or refuse these foreign festivals, what's the most important for our country is to publicize and develop our traditional festivals. Let everyone prefer Chinese traditional festival to Western festival.
It is true to the present situation that more and more people especially the young people are big on celebrating foreign festivals, such as Christmas Day. For one thing, with the different culture was gradually accepted by us, most of us enjoy and have the curiosity to celebrate the new festivals which is different from our traditional festivals, some people may think that is a fashionable way to show their distinctive characteristic. For another, with technology rapidly developing, we can get the information more conveniently and communicate with each other whom over the world as fast as possible.
As far as I am concerned, it is no conflict that we inherit the traditional festivals when we enjoy celebrating the foreign festivals. On the contrary, we should pay more attention to our traditional festivals. The reason is that all of us are Chinese People, we have our own long history which not only is our national pride, but also is our national wealth. And also, if the young people celebrate the foreign festivals blindly, we will lose our vital traditional characteristic and we may face the crisis of national culture.
To sum up, we can enjoy celebrating the foreign festivals in order to join the different culture family, but we should not do that at the cost of fading our traditional characteristic.
