After reading the latest news about mistreatments of 57 foreign residents by the Hong Kong Police, it had really shocked me. I would never have imagined that Hong Kong Police would still be this low in standards. Sounds more like a third world country to me than a modern 21st Century Hong Kong, or have they lowered themselves since the British left the colony? According to the report, mishandling of the said gang gathering seemed over reacted and kind of lack in humanity. Those who were arrested were said to be without food and water for 24 hours! What kind of country Hong Kong has become now? Only in the middle ages and those countries rule by dictators that people will get such horrible treatments. It just couldn’t happen to Hong Kong---my beautiful home town! Before I left the place, it was a wonder free country. I might have heard of few individual corruption cases but seldom heard of serious mistreatments by police like that those days. It was so peaceful and a nice place to live.
If that was true then Hong Kong Police should be really ashamed of themselves. They must do something about it and make sure it won’t happen again, if that was not true then they must also need to do something to clear their names. A serious investigation should be launched in order to eliminate the allegations, and regain the reputation Hong Police once enjoyed.
