下面我们来谈一谈过去完成时的句型。

句型一：看到by+过去时间点，用过去完成时在过去的时间之前，发生了某件事，这是不是就是过去的过去，所以我们就用过去完成时。

By the end of last year, we had learnt 3000 new words.

截止至去年年底，我们已经学了三千个新单词。

句型二：

it was 句型it was the +序数词+time+that引导的从句（从句用过去完成时）某人在过去第几次做了某事。

It was the second time that I had come to Shanghai.

这是我第二次来上海。

句型三：

said,heard,told等转述内容said，heard,told转述内容是发生在过去的动作，那就是过去的过去，所以用过去完成时。

He told me he had finished his homework a day before.

他告诉我他一天前就写完了他的作业。

句型四：

表示希望或打算落空表示本以为，本打算或者本期望怎么样，结果与现实结果相反，用现在完成时。

The bus arrived earlier than he had expected.

公交车比他预想的早到了。
