The Chinese Spring Festival is also called Chinese New year or Lunar(农历年) New year. It is the most important festival for the Chinese people all over the world. The Chinese people take it seriously and celebrate it extensively. In fact the celebrations lasts so long which starts from the New Year's Eve right till the fifteenth day into the New Year. Adults and children alike are all excited about it. Especially for children, they will get red packets with money inside of them from parents and relatives. This tradition has been carried on for general after general, and on one knows exactly when it has started.
So, here came another New Year, our whole family went back to our family home to celebrate it.That was an unforgettable holiday for me, because I never been back to our family home ever since we moved to Liuzhou(柳州) three years ago. Although the journey was a long and tiresome one, we were all so happy and never stop laughing all the way home. After two days of long hard trip, we finally arrived at our old family home. After spending two days with the rest of our family there, we went to Fuzhou city(福州) square to watch the fireworks displays. There were all sort of beautiful fireworks on display that night. And on the fifteenth day of the New Year, which is what we Chinese people call it “Yen Shell Festival” (元肖节), I went to watch the Lantern(花灯) show with my younger cousin. The lanterns lit up the whole sky of the dark night, it was extremely pretty. After New Year celebration at our old family home, and when the “Yen Shell Festival” was over, we started our journey back to Liuzhou(柳州). This holiday was fully enjoyed by every one of us. Although the rest of this New Year will see a lot of challenge ahead of me, I really had a good time and enjoyed myself very much

An Unforgettable day
It was a sunny balmy afternoon at the end of a leisurely summer. I was driving on a winding country road with a lady friend. Little did I know that I was to have a close call that would have almost ruined the rest of my life.
Earlier that day, a friend called me to tell me that our mutual friend Rosy was arriving back from Taiwan after the summer holidays. Since there was no airport in the immediate vicinity of the university, she would need a ride to come back on campus.
Being mildly interested in that girl, I jumped at the chance to play hero. The trip was not particular long or arduous. I was to pick her up from a friend’s home that was a mere 80 miles from campus—a piece of cake, I said to myself.
Everything went well. The country road was almost deserted. Visibility was good and I was not driving very fast. The conversation was lively but not distracting.
About half an hour into the drive, I rounded a corner and noticed two small children, aged around 10, waiting to cross the road after getting off their school bus. My mind was not particularly focused on them because I thought they would not cross the road when a truck was coming through on their side. The two kids looked to their left, watching the truck intensely. As soon as the truck passed, and without a thought, they started to dash across the road. I was petrified, to say the least. My heart almost leaped out of my throat. Time seemed to have come to a standstill. It was like a nightmare coming into reality. I felt I was in the slow motion crash scene of a movie. I did not even have the time to brake or steer clear.
By providence smiled on me that day. The two kids missed my car by less than an inch. Imagine what would have happened if I had hit them? They would have been killed instantly. I would have been charged with manslaughter and thrown into jail. My career would be over before it even got started. The kind of inhumane treatment I would receive from fellow inmate, I could only guess but hate to imagine. I will never be a whole person again even if I were to be released early for good behavior. My life would be over. Even if I had a good lawyer that could have gotten me off, I would have carried that guilt in my mind for the rest of my life.
Even today, thirty-six years later, the memory of that day is still fresh on my mind. I have my lucky star to thank for having both parties gotten off unscathed.
An Unforgettable Test
Last Sunday,I took the GRE. It was the longest test I had ever taken. I entered the examination room at eight o‘clock and did not come out until twelve. For the first hour I sat there waiting anxiously for the proctor to give out the paper. Then the exam officially began. I saw nothing but the test paper. How time flew. I did one section after another. The test was over without my knowing it.
Earlier I had taken many teats, yet at no test did I feel time so limited as this one. Usually there is plenty of time for me to go over what I have written when I finish the test. I would sit there waiting restlessly for the test to be over.
But this time, it took me over twenty minutes to have finished the two sections on math at a much slower speed than usual. God bless me. I wish I had been careful enough this time.
At noon, someone came over to talk with me about the test, which put me in doubt of whether or not I had put the number of my test certificate right on the answer sheet. I was sure I fined in the number, but I did not remember whether or not I had circled the corresponding number under it.
Howevet, maybe all of My efforts are not made in vain. It would be terrible if I got no grades after working so hard.

An Unforgettable Exam
As you know, English is a very important subject. Because it is a foreign language, it is much difficult to learn. So many of us pay more attention to English than Chinese. But I knew it is wrong from a test which I will never forget.
It was an exam of Chinese. Everyone in our class had got an ugly mark because of our smart Chinese teacher. She found our attitude in learning Chinese, and she knew that she should do something to change it before it was to late. So she made a special text to alarm us.
It was effective. After that exam, all of us pay more attention to Chinese than ever before. As our mother language, Chinese still has a lot of things which we should learn.

One of my most unforgettable examOne of my most unforgettable examination is the primary school physical examination, do sit-ups, one minute for a pass. I only do two, do second times almost class boys around me, then the teacher didn't believe me a minute to do two sit-ups, let me again. The results I have beautiful in front of the whole class to perform a one-minute sit-ups. May be because the first time consumption is too big, the second time I only had one. From then on, I became a minute sit-ups celebrity. A lot of people who see me to explore the truth of the attitude I asked:" how can you do in a minute to do a." Then I will not to mind taking the trouble to correct them -- is the two.
