Should Students Make Friends On Line?

Should students make friends on line? Some people say yes. The Internet helps make many friends. Chatting on line, students can express their feelings and opinions more freely, and even get help with their foreign language studies.
Others, however, think students should not. They say making friends on line is a waste of time, which should be spent more meaningfully on study. Besides, some students, get cheated on line.
It is my opinion that students should place their study, health and safety before other, things. As for friendship, we can readily find it in our classmates and other people around us.

学生应该网上交友吗?一些人的回答是肯定的。互联网有助于广交朋友，学生在网上聊天可以更加自由地表达感受和意见，还有利于外语的学习。

然而，另外一些人认为学生不应该在网上交友。他们说网上交友是浪费时间，应该把这些时间花在更有意义的学习上，而且一些学生在网上上当受骗。

我认为学生应该把他们的学习、健康和安全放在首位。至于友谊，我们可以很容易地在我们的同学以及周围的人中找到。

Nowadays, we have the chance to see and talk to the people in the same time in the Internet by using the web cam. Our language will be affected because when making friends in the Internet, most people do not use proper language. As we know, a computer and a telephone line is a must when making friends through the Internet and not everyone can afford it. Today, it seems everywhere you look in the Internet, there will be a new site popping up to razzle-dazzle you with soul mates, perfect relationships and all kinds but you have to be careful with the friends you made and learn the art of establishing a sincere friendship through the Internet. The Internet only needs a few minutes to make a friend. I can say most of them are not sincere friendship. This shows that for those who do not own a computer they will have to look for it in the cyber cafe or library and this will cost more and it is inconvenient for many people. It is almost impossible to police material sent over the Internet. By the way, it is all too easy to make a friend through the Internet now. They usually go to any lengths to make themselves look more appealing including lying about their personality, financial status, hobbies, interests, goals and virtually anything else that will grab your attention. Everyone should be careful when using the Internet for owns safety. It helps to save a lot of money and precious time. The computer usually cost an arm and a leg.
