1 the safety of food
reports of food poisonings ot tainted food have been frequent in china. in the late 2006, illegal amount of chemicals are discovered in turbot, in march 2007,KFC,was accused of adding oil filtering power. in september 2008,a fresh outbreak of kidney disease occurred, due to baby formula contaminated by melamine, a poisionous chemical.
these incidents happened so frequently mainly because the government failed to inspect efficiently. though there are around ten national government departments and numerous provincial and local agencies that share the responsibility to ensure food safety and monitor food production and sales, their duties are often overlapping and ambigous, which make the monitoring system unresponsive.
in my opinion, to guarantee the food safety, the government should attach great importance to food inspection and improve the supervision mechanism. they should check the food products in the market, and immediately pull those disqualified products off shelves, in this way, chinese food will conform to the standard and thus becom safer and safer.

food safety has become a rising concern amoung chinese citizens after a series of food contamination accidents occured across the country in recent years.in 2006, the country's safety watchdog found that several companies were producing red-yolk eggs contaminated with dangerous red sundan dyes. even international fast food giant KFC was accused of adding cancer-causing sundan-1 to its roast chicken wings. the most notorious case involved the recent tainted milk powder incident that has caused kidney stones in tens of thousands of infants.
food safety incidents happened so freqquent mainly because of the food producer. in order to sell more products and make more profits ,some food producers take the risk of breaking the law and many deliberately add various dangerous chemicals to make their food look or taste better.
from my point of view , to guarantee the food safety , firstly,we should improve the supervision mechanism. secondly, we should severely punish the criminals and all those responsible, in this way , our food will conform to standard the thus become safer and safer.

On The Safety of Food
Over the past couple of years, several cases of the food scandal have been disclosed on various media. The problem of food security has become a hot button across society. The prevalence of food insecurity has greatly impacted public health, which the government could not afford to ignore, according to the online edition of the People Daily.
There are a couple of driving forces, I would argue, behind this undesirable tide. First, in the course of the rapid economic evolution, we ignore moral education, giving rise to the rising rate of the problem. More importantly, the lack of adequate regulation and punishment on those illegal producers enforces the trend.
As Confucius instructed, it is better late than never. Prompt and strict measures should be taken to turn back this evil trend. The government should launch a massive moral campaign to educate all citizens and draw up tougher laws to crack down on those irresponsible corporations and prohibit them from entering the food industry again. I am firmly convinced that through our combined efforts we are bound to enjoy more risk-free foods in the days ahead.
