在当今世界“多元化”的背景下，“地球村”的时代已经来临。随着国际间的交往日益频繁，跨文化交际的要求不可避免的凸显起来。具备跨文化交际的意识和能力成为有效进行跨文化交际的必然要求。英语作为一门世界性语言，被各国人民广泛使用。要交际就需要听和说。而要说，就要听懂。听力理解是人们日常语言交际中最为重要的一项技能，随着英语听力教学的不断深入和发展，背景知识越来越受到重视。
本文以XX大学外国语学院XX名学生作为受试对象主要调查了背景文化知识对英语听力的影响，主要分成参照组和控制组进行实验。 以上研究结果表明两个组的平均分有明显差异，背景知识对提高英语听力理解能力有明显的作用，听力成绩比参照组学生的听力成绩提高要快.

The time of "the global village" has come at the background of the world's diversification . As international exchanges have become increasingly frequent,the request of intercultural communication inevitably highlights up. Therefore,it is more important for us to have the ability and consciousness for the effective intercultural communication.English ,as a global language ,is widely used all over the world.As for a effective communication,first ,we should listen and speak. And speaking should rely on your understanding . So listening comprehension has become one of the most important skill in our daily communication.With the development and deepening of the English listening teaching , the background knowledge should be paid more and more attention .
This paper, with a subject of XX students in XX university,is to know how many effects do the cultural background knowledge make to the English listening comprehension.The experiment has been divided into two groups,the reference group and the control group.And the reresults show that there are big difference between their average scores.The control group,who have a good understanding of the background knowledge ,improve quickly than the reference group in the scores ,and also enjoy a good english listening comprehension.
